Can you explain this account and how it is used?

The dependent care account allows you to use pre-tax money to pay for daycare services for children under age 13 or for other qualifying dependents unable to take care of themselves. For more information about whether an expense is eligible, refer to IRS publication 503 (Child and Dependent Care Expenses).

What is the deadline for submitting expenses for reimbursement?

The deadline for submitting expenses for reimbursement is March 31 for expenses incurred in the prior year.

 

Is there a debit card available?

Yes. 

 

When can I file for reimbursement from my Dependent Care Account?

You can only use the amount you have contributed to date when seeking reimbursement.  If your expense is larger than your account balance, you can wait until your account reaches the desired level through your payroll contributions. The deadline for submitting expenses for reimbursement is March 31 for expenses incurred in the prior year.

 

How will I be reimbursed?

If you have not set up direct deposit, UMR will send a check to your home. If you visited www.umr.com and completed the direct deposit set up, your reimbursement will be automatically deposited to your account.
